“We have finished processing refunds for date/s on the following event that experienced a major change due to Covid-19. Customers should see them posted to their account within 7-10 business days.
Pigs on the Wing: WISH YOU WERE HERE Tour
Hoquiam, WA
03/27/2020 – 03/27/2020
We are very sorry for the long wait. The refund process has taken far longer than anyone anticipated. Brown Paper Tickets has continued to issue refunds throughout the pandemic, although our efforts were slowed substantially by the crisis. As the pandemic subsides, we look forward to continuing our mission of supporting independent artists and the live events community. Thank you for your patience during this challenging period.
If you have any questions, please contact us at support@brownpapertickets.com. “
Update on tickets purchased through Brown Paper Tickets for 3/27/20 and 4/24/20
If you bought tickets to our performance for March 27th, 2020 at the 7th Street Theatre in Hoqiuam, WA or our April 24th, 2020 performance at the Egyptian Theater in Coos Bay, OR through Brown Paper Tickets – both of which had to be cancelled – there’s a good chance you didn’t receive a prompt refund from the ticketing agency. While we’re equally frustrated to hear that the refunds did not happen in a timely manner as we requested, it does appear that the refunds are in process – and we did want to keep you posted on the latest update regarding refunds from Brown Paper Tickets – please click HERE for information on refunds on the BPT website.
We as the performer do not directly handle ticket sales and are not able to refund tickets for cancelled dates – please see below for an explanation of how online ticketing works for us as a band, and thank you in advance for your support and patience with the situation.
How online ticketing works for us:
Pigs on the Wing has worked with Brown Paper Tickets on occasions where we’ve needed an online ticketing vendor for many years and have found them to be reliable and fair in their service fees and policies for customers, which is why we had chosen them over other ticketing companies. However, it would appear that the problems some of you have experienced in getting prompt refunds since March of 2020 are widely reported by many bands, fans, and promoters alike. Again, we find this wholly unacceptable, regardless of the circumstances, and won’t be working with BPT in the future for this reason.
Brown Paper Tickets ( or any ticketing company) collects ticket money for our event and holds this in escrow until after the show. The band never receives any ticketing money until after the event, typically a couple of weeks after the event. Since these event never happened, we did not receive ( and would not accept in any case) any ticket proceeds for a cancelled show. For the dates in question for us, when it became clear we’d have to cancel , our management informed Brown Paper Tickets of this immediately, and requested that they refund all ticket holders. At the time we were told this would be an automated process and ticket holders wouldn’t need to do anything. Unfortunately, it’s clear that, at least in some cases, that didn’t happen despite our repeated attempts to contact them and verify refunds for our cancelled shows were in fact happening.
Here’s what you can do: To be clear, we do expect everyone to eventually be fully refunded for the tickets you purchased for the cancelled shows, we just don’t know the timeline. In the meantime, we’d highly suggest you do the following:
- Email Brown Paper Tickets at: refunds@brownpapertickets.com
- In this email, briefly explain the situation, and include the following information from your ticket:
- Confirmation number
- Last 4 digits + name on the card used to place the order
- Ticket number
Again, thanks for your support and patience with the situation.
